CLARIFICATION: Ezee Fiber is utilizing the County Right of Way/Utility Easement to install fiber optic cable. They have permits from Harris County to do so. Because it is a county easement, they are not required to get a permit from us, nor are we notified.

All water lines in Northampton are in front of the homes. Depending on the section, some water lines are in the County ROW, while in other sections, the MUD has an easement for water lines. In some, but not all areas, the sewer line is behind homes and the District has an access easement for those lines.

We did NOT sell any rights to them to use the easement or use water. They are required to meter any water they use within the District, and they will be billed for it when the project is completed. Additionally, they are responsible for any damage to MUD water lines and our operator, WDM, will bill them accordingly.

Unfortunately, they have caused an inordinate amount of damage within the District. We met with the construction manager and other representatives of Ezee Fiber on Monday, November 11, which included one of our board members, representatives from WDM, me as General Manager of the District, and the attorney for the District.

We have issued them a letter of agreement outlining reimbursement for damages and requiring a deposit from them.
